About the Vessel
PT-17 was an 80′ Elco Motor Torpedo Boat . Elco is an abbreviation for the Electric Boat Company. She was completed in August 1942 and destroyed by Japanese aircraft just 3 days shy of her first birthday one year later, at Rendova harbor, Solomon Islands.
