About the Vessel
The hermaphrodite brig George Latimer was built around 1858 at Baltimore, Maryland for the West Indian trade, and was employed in the sugar trade for some years. The block model from which she was built is in the collection of the United States National Museum (Gift of William Skinner & Sons. Cat. No. 76.009 U.S.N.M.)
