A 1970 replica of the 1757, 20-gun, 6th-post ship HMS Rose. Later converted to a period-accurate 28-gun ship to play the part of the fictional HMS Surpsise in the movie Master and Commander. Now part of the Maritime Museum of San Diego.
Oliver Cromwell was the largest ship in the Connecticut State Navy from her launch on 13 Jun, 1776, until the British Royal Navy captured her in a battle off the coast of Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
Captain Bligh and his followers were forced into this launch following mutiny on the HMS Bounty. They sailed 47 days seeking safety with the loss of only one man.
