Most fields are self explanatory. Those meriting further instruction are listed below.
Alternate or Sub Title
Often used to translate foreign languages. Please list the native language as the main title and the translation as the alternate title. For example, Title = Krigsmuseet / Sub Title = Danish War Museum. This field may also be used for any other suitable means. As one example, it can be used to list the original name of the vessel if different than it’s current one. For example: Title = Edmeé S. / Sub Title = (ex. Cecelia Mae).
Museum Type
Select the appropriate type. Contact the administrator if a new type is needed.
Subject Type
This field is shown only when the museum type is a ship. It is a hierarchical list. Please select the most specific applicable category and all of its antecedants. This helps with searching by type, as the system does not imply antecendents in a search. For instance, if you select only “Aircraft Carrier” and someone searches for “Steel Navy” hoping to find all modern navy vessels, the aircraft carrier will not be listed. But if you select both “Steel Navy” and “Aircraft Carrier”, the ship will be included in searches for “Steel Navy” and/or “Aircraft Carrier”.
Contact the administrator if a new subject type is needed.
Propulsion Type
This field is shown only when the museum type is a ship. It is a hierarchical list. Please select the most specific applicable category and all of its antecedants. This helps with searching by type, as the system does not imply antecendents in a search. For instance, if you select only “Steam Turbine” for your WWII cruiser and someone searches for “Engine” hoping to find all engine-powered vessels, the cruiser will not be listed. But if you select both “Engine” and “Steam Turbine”, the ship will be included in searches for “Engine” and/or “Steam Turbine”.

Era
This field is shown only when the museum type is a ship. When appropriate, select the appropriate time period.
Content
Here you can include all the text and images you wish. The website administrator may alter the presentation using options not available in this form, particularly if it contributes to uniformity on the website.
Use the Add Media button to submit images. Please include at least one image that would be suitable for use as the Featured Image, which is displayed when listing the museums, as seen here. If possible, it should have a 1:1 ratio. The webmaster can crop the image for you, if necessary. Learn more about uploading images.
Excerpt
This text appears along with the featured images in some listings. It should be brief, but you are not limited to a single sentance.
